Big Camp

Every September Watson Park undertakes a massive development, essentually becoming a small town.

Every Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (a land area of the country divided up for administration purposes) in Australia and New Zealand have a Annual Convention - Most commonly known as Big Camp.

Watson Park plays host to Church members from the South Queensland Conference - roughly south of Rockhampton and Longreach - for 8-10 days and to do this we set up the following:

  • 5 Huge Tents - The largest boasting the seating capacity of around 2000 people.

  • 500 Conference Tents.

  • We open up around 246 Caravan Sites.

  • Allocate around 100 Private Campsites and offer Unallocated Bush Camping.

  • A General Store, Ice Creamery, Bulk Store, Pie Shop and Cafe.

  • Five Large Carparks

Over the period of the Camp we have around 4,500 people staying onsite and this number can peek to around 8,000 on the week-ends including day visitors. All of these people can partake in activites, programs and workshops according to their division or age group ranging across the following: Beginners 0-3, Kindy 4-6, Primary 7-10, Juniors 10-12, High School 13-16, Youth 17-30, Encounter 30-35 and Adult 35 and Up.
